JLK Global Staffing Solutions is seeking a qualified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in St. Louis, Missouri for a school-based contract opportunity providing counseling and social work services to students.
The LCSW will support students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs through individual and group counseling, assessment, intervention, case coordination, and collaboration with school staff and families.
This is a long-term opportunity with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with up to approximately 40 hours per week, depending on the school calendar and student needs. The assignment is expected to continue through June 30, 2027.
Job Responsibilities
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide professional social work and counseling services designed to support students’ overall well-being and success in the school environment.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Provide individual, group, and supportive counseling services to students.
- Assess students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and related needs.
- Develop appropriate counseling and intervention plans based on student needs.
- Provide short-term counseling and support within the school setting.
- Help students develop healthy coping skills, communication skills, emotional regulation strategies, and problem-solving skills.
- Support students experiencing academic, behavioral, social, or emotional challenges.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical and student documentation.
- Document counseling sessions, assessments, interventions, referrals, and student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, counselors, special education professionals, and other members of the student support team.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, and caregivers when appropriate and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Assist with identifying students who may benefit from additional support or community-based services.
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate community resources and behavioral health services when needed.
- Participate in student support meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Contribute to student-focused intervention and support plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive student information.
- Follow applicable school policies, professional standards, and documentation requirements.
- Support a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
- Perform other social work and student counseling duties as assigned.
Student Counseling Services
The LCSW will provide counseling and social work support focused on students’ social-emotional well-being and their ability to participate successfully in the educational environment.
Services may address areas such as:
- Emotional and behavioral concerns
- Stress and coping skills
- Social skills
- School adjustment
- Academic-related challenges
- Family and social concerns
- Peer relationships
- Emotional regulation
- Conflict resolution
- Self-advocacy
- Crisis support and appropriate referrals
- Connections to community and behavioral health resources
The LCSW will work collaboratively with school professionals to identify appropriate interventions and provide coordinated support for students.
Collaboration With School Staff & Families
Effective collaboration is an important part of this position. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker may work closely with:
- Teachers
- School counselors
- School administrators
- Special education teams
- Student support teams
- Parents and guardians
- Community service providers
- Behavioral health professionals
- Other members of the multidisciplinary team
The LCSW will communicate relevant information appropriately while maintaining student confidentiality and following applicable policies and professional requirements.
Required Qualifications
Candidates applying for this LCSW job in St. Louis, MO should have:
- A current and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential applicable to the position.
- Appropriate education and professional training in social work.
