JLK Global Staffing Solutions is currently hiring an experienced IT Project Manager – Project Lead in South Carolina to support multiple technology, business transformation, and organizational initiatives.

This is a 12-month onsite IT Project Manager contract opportunity with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously through their complete project life-cycle, including planning, solicitation, vendor selection, contract negotiation, acquisition, implementation, migration, archival, and retirement of legacy applications.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of IT project management experience, strong experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, and a proven ability to manage complex projects involving technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and organizational leadership.

About the Project Manager – Project Lead Role

The Project Manager – Project Lead will provide experienced project management leadership for agency-wide initiatives and technology projects.

This role requires a highly organized and results-driven professional who can manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring projects remain aligned with organizational objectives.

The Project Lead will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders and will be expected to communicate effectively with professionals at all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities of the IT Project Manager

As an IT Project Manager – Project Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, organize, and manage project activities for agency-wide technology and business initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from project initiation through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Manage project scope and ensure project requirements are clearly defined and maintained.
  • Apply both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies based on project requirements.
  • Promote project management best practices and ensure project teams follow established methodologies.
  • Coordinate project activities across technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, vendors, and other organizational groups.
  • Lead project status meetings, project review meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports and executive-level project updates.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, risks, and recommendations to project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation throughout the entire project life-cycle.
  • Ensure all required project documentation is complete, accurate, organized, and maintained.
  • Identify potential project risks and issues before they affect project delivery.
  • Develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation and resolution strategies.
  • Manage project resources and coordinate resource requirements across project teams.
  • Support strategic planning and technology road-map development.
  • Assist with project budget planning and monitor project financial performance.
  • Lead and support change management activities associated with project implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, methodologies, and organizational practices.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making among project stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within approved scope, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of professionals at all levels of the organization.

Current Project Initiatives

The Project Manager may support several technology and organizational initiatives, including:

Mortgage Servicing and Mortgage Production Technology

Support technology initiatives related to mortgage servicing and mortgage production systems, including planning, implementation, migration, and life-cycle management.

Development and Compliance Monitoring Technology

Manage initiatives involving development and compliance monitoring technology solutions designed to support organizational processes and regulatory requirements.

Contract Administration Technology

Lead projects related to contract administration technology, including planning, implementation, process improvement, and technology life-cycle activities.

Agency Business Continuity

Support agency-wide business continuity initiatives designed to improve organizational resilience, operational readiness, and continuity of critical services.

Space Needs and Facilities Planning

Support facility planning initiatives, including assessing space and facility requirements for a new location that supports workforce needs, operational efficiency, and future organizational growth.

Required Qualifications for the Project Manager Position

Candidates applying for this IT Project Manager job in South Carolina should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic planning and road-map development.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project risk management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in resource management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in change management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project budget planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Required Project Management Certification

Candidates must possess one of the following certifications or be actively working toward obtaining one:

  • PMP – Project Management Professional
  • PMI-ACP – PMI Agile Certified Practitioner
  • CSM – Certified ScrumMaster

Agile and Waterfall Project Management Experience

This position requires experience working across both Agile and traditional Waterfall project management environments.

The successful candidate should be comfortable adapting project management methodologies based on project objectives, organizational requirements, stakeholder expectations, technical complexity, and delivery timelines.

Experience managing hybrid project environments is highly desirable.

This is a fully onsite Project Manager position in South Carolina.
