About the role

As a per diem Registered Nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), you deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients and their families on the shifts you choose. Per diem work gives you the flexibility to pick up shifts around your life while building experience with a respected hospital team.

What you’ll do

• Care for critically ill children, including ventilator, drip and invasive-line management.
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition in the electronic health record
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments per orders and policy
• Communicate changes in condition to providers and the charge nurse
• Educate patients and families and support a safe discharge

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST
• 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM CST

Shift times include a 30-minute unpaid break. Your recruiter will share exact dates and help you book the shifts you want.

Requirements

• Active RN license for Illinois (or a compact/multistate license where accepted)
• Current BLS and PALS certification
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or closely related unit
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, health screening and facility onboarding
